Somali Emergency Aid
Founded in April 1999 by Somali businessmen and women’s groups, SEA was established to address the severe impacts of the civil war on Somalia’s social infrastructure.
The organization was founded to address the impact of civil war and the resulting destruction of social institutions in Somalia. SEA focuses on providing relief and development support to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters, with a strong emphasis on empowering women and promoting peace.
SEA envisions a world where poverty is eradicated, and every individual has access to fundamental rights and opportunities, irrespective of their religion, ethnicity, nationality, or
gender. SEA strives to be a voice against injustice and poverty, working to tackle their root
causes.
The main philosophy of the organisation is to discourage those old customs of segregating parts of Somali communities from the rest, which is a prejudice inhuman
practice.

Our Health and Nutrition program focuses on providing essential health services, promoting healthy practices, and addressing malnutrition to enhance the overall well-being of individuals, especially women and children.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
Our WASH initiatives aim to provide access to clean water, improve sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene practices to prevent disease and enhance the quality of life.
Food Security & Livelihoods
Our Food Security & Livelihoods program focuses on ensuring access to nutritious food, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and creating opportunities for economic empowerment.
Governance & Community
Development
Governance and Community Development program focuses on building the capacity of local institutions, promoting good governance practices, and encouraging community-led initiatives.
